As mentioned above, the primary condition for renewal is that the investor continues to own the property or maintain the investment in Latvia.
GOLDEN VISA RENEWALS
STAY GOLDEN
The Latvia Golden Visa is issued for five years and can be renewed indefinitely if the required investment continues. To renew the residence permit, Golden Visa holders must provide evidence that they still own the required investment (real estate or financial) or an official declaration by the relevant representatives that the investment is continuing. There is no limit on how many times the Golden Visa can be renewed. However, there are certain conditions for the renewals
Absence of Criminal Record
The investors must not have a criminal record in Latvia or their home countries.
Compliance with Laws
The investors and dependents must comply with Latvian laws and regulations throughout the period of residency.
Application Timing
The renewal application must be submitted before the current residence permit expires.
Absence of Criminal Record
The following documents are typically required for renewal
- A completed renewal application form.
- Proof of continuous ownership of the investment (e.g., updated title deed, tax clearance certificate).
- Proof of medical insurance covering medical expenses in Latvia.
- A valid passport (or the travel documents recognized by Latvia) and a true copy of it
- Proof of payment of the applicable government fees.
Residence in Latvia
Unlike other residence programs, the Latvia Golden Visa does not have a minimum stay requirement in Latvia for renewal. However, demonstrating some level of residence or connection to Latvia may be beneficial.
Dependents
The renewal can also include the investor’s family members (spouse, children under 21, and parents of both the investor and the spouse), provided that the same conditions are met for them as well.
During the residence permit renewal, the applicant must provide again his biometric data (digital photographs and fingerprints), through the valid procedure.
